From August 7 thorough August 20, 2004, our family traveled to Paraguay, a country in the middle of South America. Paraguay is a little known place for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere. It is a land locked county of about 5.5 million people.

Our travels centered in Asunción and Ciudad del Este with a brief trip to Foz Iguazu in Brazil.

The purpose of our trip was to bring our children back to the country where they were born. In 1989 and 1991 we traveled to Paraguay to adopt Paul and Anna Rose. They are now 15 and 13 and the time was right to return to the land of their birth. We traveled with over 80 other adoptive parents and children through the TIES Program, a travel experience geared to the needs of adoptive families who are making home land visits. For more information see www.adoptivefamilytravel.com

While in Paraguay we had the opportunity to experience some of the many ways people live, work and go to school. We visited villages and cruised the Paraguay River. We traveled by air and bus and saw some of the wonderful country. Best of all, we had the opportunity to meet Paraguayan children, families and artisans who create the traditional folk items that are a deep part of Paraguayan culture.

As we enjoyed our time in Paraguay, we took many pictures. The purpose of this web site is to share our adventures and some of the many images of Paraguay with you.
