The Evergreen
Quilters began working on this quilt in the fall of
2005 and into early winter and
spring
of
2006.
We are now selling chances to win the quilt -
raffle tickets are $2.00 each
and all the funds collected will be used for our work with supportive services
for families who are homeless or in need of food.
We will conduct the raffle June 4, 2006
About this quilt
We found a wonderful pattern in a quilting magazine. It is a
combination of the traditional snail trail block and star blocks in a
wide variety of fabrics and colors. Perfect - we could use fabric from
our
personal collections - and some of our collections are of considerable
size.
However, we did decide we needed a theme fabric.
Of course, we would need to agree on what the color theme needed to be,
so we went shopping. We found a great print to use as the anchor
fabric for the quilt.

Making a quilt of this size and complexity requires many hands. The Evergreen Quilters spent countless hours cutting the fabric, piecing the blocks and hand quilting.
Here are some of the " quilting bees" we convened over a period of about 8 months.Follow our progress.
